Complete Communication Training Package
It aims to support all health care professionals involved in the care of VTE patients in reinforcing or developing key communication skills in a variety of contexts. The package comprises three sets of related videos, each providing a bite-sized introduction to the issues; together, they provide an overview of what makes good and not-so-good communication.
Thrombosis UK has been lucky to bring together the skills and experience of several health professionals, as well as obtaining feedback from patients with a history of VTE on their experiences of good and not-so-good communication, and how these have impacted them. These are accompanied by a series of talks by Paul Bennett, a professor of health and clinical psychology, drawing on some key general and specific issues in communication relevant to the acute and continuing care of VTE patients. Each provides a differing perspective on issues of communication, intending to provide a holistic approach to exploring your communication with patients.
